Nov 3, 2012 I am having a problem lately with my computer. When I want to install a software that is big in size it slows down my computer and the installer won't start. I can install software like VLC, Google Chrome etc. That are little in size, but I can't install for example Microsoft Office. I managed to install a game, but the installer started in 3 minutes and meanwhile the computer was very slow. After the installer started the computer returned to normal speed.
Firstly let the installer rollback and reboot, then run the setup.exe rather than let it autorun ensuring that it's ran as administrator. If that doesn't work then make sure that the 'COM+ System Application' and 'Distributed Transaction Coordinator' services are running, if they weren't switch them on and try again. If you still get no joy then delete the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft COM3' then reinstall 'Component Services', reboot and try again. If they don't work then I guess you might need to call VMWare ok, good luck from Starwind Software Developer www.starwindsoftware.com. I recently installed two patches on my ESXi 4.1 host.
I've installed a WinXP VM, a Win2k3 VM, a Fedora 5 Core VM and a SuSe 10.1 VM. Windows is easy to install the VMware tools, but the Linux ones are a bit more tricky! I had problems with the kernel source at first, but now I have that - I've tried running./vmware-install.pl from /usr/share/vmware-tools-distrib/ but I get this error: login as: root Using keyboard-interactive authentication. Password: Last login: Wed May 31 11: from *.* Have a lot of fun.
Try to find the installation package 'VMware Tools.msi' in a folder from which you can install VMware Tools.' This has only happened for two of my images (all the linux and netware images have been fine, as well as the majority of the windows ones), and I'm really not sure what's gone wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Ok, the VMware_Install_Cleaner didn't work, but I followed the link to the Microsoft tool, the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

The system copies the inf and sys files to the windows directory and the I brings up the error that the installation fails. I tried uninstalling and new installing the tools several times.
Lab Manager 2.4 (zion-2.4.0.202) Thx. I've just updated VCSA to 5.1.0.10000 Build 1065184. I had to uninstall VMware Tools first 'cause update failed with 'VMware Tools cannot install because it appears that another installation of VMware Tools is already present. Please remove the previous installation and then attempt to install this copy of VMware Tools again.' Error in /opt/vmware/var/log/vami/updatecli.log (I had similar problem with previous update).
Jun 21, 2011 My pc is displaying a microsoft visual c ++ runtime library message? Dec 24, 2012 I have been trying to install new Nvidia drivers and I got error message Nvidia Installer failed. I uninstalled the old drivers in hope this would help, but I am getting the same error message again. I tried several fixes from all over the internet but nothing helped me so far. I have tried many times to reinstall it in all modes but I gets the point where tells me to reestar again and again? Jun 9, 2012 i have a problem.my labtop isnt starting up. Its constantly telling me that windows couldnt complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation. Aug 17, 2011 My sister has a miniHP 110, which was experiencing virus troubles, so I offered to do a factory restore. I have used that option several times on my regular HP laptop with no issues, but on her's, it's giving me the error message 'Windows cannot complete the installation in safe mode. To continue installing windows, restart the computer.'
VMware vSphere, ESX, ESXi v4.1 I've created three foreign language variants of Windows XP SP0. The languages are Arabic, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
These VMs already have VMWare Tools installed. So I've decided to uninstall install it again. Not a soo good idea. Because current user folders are remapped on the server, uninstalling VMWare Tools disconnect VMs from network. During first step of installation, it tried to access My Documents (which is on the server) to compute required space. But this folder is not reachable so, I can't install VMWare Tools.:/ I've tried with a local admin account which is not moved on the server, I can install VMWare tools.

Jun 9, 2010 I have attempted to install Windows 7 a couple of times now (with different copies each time) and I keep getting the same problem:Everything goes very smoothly for the most part. It finishes the installation, and then goes to reboot. When it attempts to load up Windows 7 the first time, I get the black screen that asks what mode to start windows in (Safe Mode, Start Normally, etc) and I choose start normally. It then brings up the Win 7 startup screen, but pops up with an error that explains that the computer was rebooted unexpectedly and the install did not complete. From this point, all I can do is click the 'ok' button (the only option given in the dialog box) which just restarts the computer. If I just let it go and don't touch anything, it brings me back to the exact same message. This happens infinitely.
All the best, Andreas. Recently I switched from VMWare Server to VMWare Player to reduce the memory consumption of my host system. After I switched to VMWare Player, I upgraded the VMWare Tools in my guest vm (Windows XP). The installation seemed to work fine (no error messages), but after the upgrade the mouse stopped working (left mouse button didn't react any more).
Microsoft Runtime Error Windows 10
It can't be a virus I just recently reinstalled Windows. May 6, 2009 I recently bought a maxtor 500 gb external hdd and i just cant get it to work with windows 7, i got a computer at home where i want to keep it that has windows 7 rc, I have tryed everything i can think of to make it work but nothing does, I cant see it in my computer or with the explorer, but I can see it with computer management, It doesnテざt have a drive letter or NTFS and I just cant do anything to it, I cant format it then I get the error 'An unexpected error has occured. Check the system event log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer'.Nothing works, I cant put a drive letter to it then i get the error 'The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console then restart Disk Management or restart the computer.' Now im getting pretty annoyed with trying different things on it but canテざt seem to make it work, now on the other hand it does work on my laptop computer wich has Windows vista, and it works fine, also works on another computer I have that has Windows XP, can anyone please help me with this problem I would prefer to not have to format it since I did put alot of data on it from my other computers but if I have to then so be it.
- Went out bought 3 more of the same drives. All 4 drives are WD1101FALS 1TB. - Set up the RAID 10 array on the ASUS motherboard, got the RAID drives for Win7 64bit on a USB key. - Start install, no problem. Win7 asks for drivers, I click browse and select the drives from USB for the RAID. Install continues, files are copied, thing are flying, it's fast.
Also unity mode did not work and folder sharing was not possible. I tried everything inside the vm to fix this problem (reinstalling mouse drivers, removing VMWare Tools, reinstalling VMWare tools etc). Nothing worked. The system was completely unusable. Now I found out, that this is a compatibility issue of VMWare Tools (for Server) and VMWare Tools (for Player). It seems, that the update tries to update the mouse driver, fails and the mouse driver remains in a corrupt state, that cannot be resolved.

Install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 build 5.00.2314.1003 WITH MS Java VM 8. Attempt to install J2SE 1.4.2 SDK Standalone (success!) I believe having the Microsoft Java VM installed did the trick. Windows NT 4.0 WS comes with Internet Explorer 2.0, which is clearly an issue.

Im not that experienced in either VMware or Linux, so you might need to spell it out for me. I'm upgrading several images from 4.x to 5.5.x, and am upgrading the VMware tools on each machine as I go through them. I've hit a snag with two images thus far, however. In both cases, I'm attempting to upgrade VMware Tools on a windows guest (Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and Windows XP Pro), and the problem comes about as follows: I hit the install vmware tools button, and the installer pops right up. After hitting the next button, the installer starts working, and interupts itself seconds later with this message: 'The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'VMware Tools' disk and click OK.' So I navigate to the CD-ROM which is still inserted in the virtual drive (using the browse button), and choose the file 'VMware Tools.msi' After hitting ok, the installer thinks for a few seconds before returning this error message: 'The file 'D: VMware Tools.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product VMware Tools.

Hello Peters909, You might try and see if you have a System Restore point to before you were installing updates. To choose a System Restore point, From the Desktop click the Pearl (start) button In the Search Field type “System Restore” and hit enter Once System Restore is open, select the option “choose a different restore point” and hit next Once on the next screen, pick a restore point to go back to when it last worked for you. Once you select the restore point, click next, then select finish, this will start the restore process. Once you restore, you can then do a manual download of the updates and then install one at a time and reboot. If the issue doesn't occur, go to the next update and install.

Microsoft Runtime DLL Installer Failed To Complete Installation Mar 1, 2011 I downloaded the VMware software to my C: drive, and when I clicked the file to open it, it opened to about 90% at which point I got the following error: Setup cannot continue. Been trying to get Windows 7 Home Edition to work on my pc for the last 4 days but no joy.I installed it first on Sunday, which worked, loaded up and I started putting on my antivirus, updating graphics drivers and windows updates. Then, it all froze on me, and since then I have been unable to load Windows 7 at all. I assumed it was down to a corrupt download/update it had done, so I tried the Repair option on the Windows 7 disc. No fix there. So, I decided to format the drive, and redo a clean install, but now, it reaches Completing Installation stage, and either goes into a reboot loop, over and over, or it reaches the Setting Registry Settings, and then goes into a reboot loop.
It goes on in a loop. I've tried booting it in safe mode, but to no avail. I've been playing around with it for a couple of days, and got to the screen where you choose accounts from. It said the account had been disabled, and to check with my administrator.
During our unattendant installation of centos 5, we install the vmware-tools using the vmware repo. In the packe section i specify%packages vmware-tools But when i now wan't to upgrade the tools i get the following errors related to x86config, which is not installed on the system: Traceback (most recent call last): File '/usr/lib/vmware-tools/install/vmware-open-vm-tools-xorg-drv-display/x-conf-rhel.py', line 6, in?
So I would encourage VMWare to use a different installer if possible. It doesn't seem fair to be told the problem is with a product from Microsoft - not us - when I am trying to upgrade one of your products, or reinstall one of your products that your later upgrade uninstalled. I have got som problems installing VMware Tools on ny SLES 10.2.
This works fine on RHEL5 btw. Have installed vmware tools and all kmods 9.0.1 from here: Index of /45848/tools/esx Update is from 5.1p01/ to 5.1u1/ When updating the tools to 9.0.5 yum bails out with broken depencies but installs fine when doing a fresh install; means all dependencies are met but yum fails. What is the easiest way to work around this issue? Hello VMware Gurus, over the weekend I installed VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.0.
All VMware Tools are now downloaded and up to date. I'm sorry to see that VMware Tools for Windows XP (and newer) are still at version 8.1.3.9911 (build-203739). Still urgently awaiting an updated version. When installing VMware tools on a windows 2008 R2 Server VM, using the inbuilt install VMware tools, I get the following error: The wizard was interrupted before VMware tools could be completely installed. Your System has not been modified. To complete the installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard.
