I mean, Halo 3 has around 10x more armour combinations than there have been unique players ever to play the game, obviously some combinations will have to go unused and therefore a lot of space it going to be wasted. Maybe thats why we can't see any logical pattern in the urls? They're just randomly generated?

-Spartan-468, last of white team. Yes, Vanity does give you an idea on what you need to achieve your perfect Spartan including the amount of credits you need to aquire said armor, but the saved image is of low quality. Now, if the Spartan image is to be used to produce a custom sig or image, then maybe someone could build your Spartan in Reach and save the image for you, assuming they have the required rank, credits, and prerequisites met for the desired Spartan armor. If you change any letter to the next letter then you would eventually expect to find a valid code for an armour image rather than the error message you always get, Perhaps Bungie has a program which will generate a player image as and when its needed. Unlike Halo 3, the images on bungie.net are not encoded URLs that allow for simple variable changes to alter the image being rendered.
