The engine actually runs at a constant RMP. When the spray is on, the by-pass valve closes and this increases the load on the engine. Best Answer: Not familiar with this type but they all work similar, so try these options. The regulator valve knob which is the most visible item on the machine may be turned to it's lowest setting. Turning this the opposite way should/will increase the pressure. Second thing to check, that the above valve isn't jammed and is not moving whether or not the knob is turned to the high or low setting. To check this, pull the lance trigger and whilst the water is flowing, adjust the knob to see if any difference. If no difference, the valve may be stuck, therefore, lightly/gently tap with a piece of wood or replacing may be the only option.
